Radio Pete 102.0 FM is located in the small road town of Pete, on the eastern edge of the Saint Louis region. The station began broadcasting in 2004, while cooperation with Peace Corps Volunteers began in 2008. The station received new recording and editing equipment in exchange for 30 minutes of air time twice a month.
Volunteers have produced shows regarding various health topics, environmental preservation, and girls’ education via skits, interviews, and translations of children’s books and stories. All shows are aired in Pulaar to a radius of approximately 50 kilometers.
